Japan again When planning for a final trip with Nicole during summer vacation, two destinations are in our mind - Tainan (Kaohsiung and Kenting) and Okinwawa.
As Okinawa is in the southern Japan which is less affected by radiation, we decided to go there for 4 days holiday. Luckily, I have got a reasonsable package for 2 persons, taking Dragonair and staying
in a convenient hotel (Okinawa Port Hotel) which is within walking distance to Naha Monorail Asahibashi Station (旭橋).
Well before our trip, I have applied for an international driving licence and rented a car on-line via OTS Rent-a-Car for a day on 20 August (the second day of our holiday). It is a small car in SK
Class of 650cc (Honda - LIFE). However, what a surprise, it was upgraded to a 1300cc S Class vehicle (Honda - FIT).
We arrived in Naha, Okinawa at 5:05pm and then took the monorail to hotel check-in. The hotel is nice, which is not small as typical Tokyo hotel, with free internet connection. After taking a short rest,
we went to Kokosaidori (國際通) for some shopping and dinner. We had BBQ buffet for dinner @Bambohe (日式燒肉食之放題). Maybe because we had too much ice cream, both of us had diarrhea. :(
We got our rented car on the second day and began our self-drive journey. First spot is Manzamo (象頭斷崖 - 萬座毛), which took almost 2 hours drive. Manzamo has the strange rock which carried out a form
just like an elephant's trunk in a precipitous cliff. Then we headed to Nago Pineapple Park (名護鳳梨園) where we travelled around the pineapple farm and tasted fresh pineapple, pineapple cake and pineapple
juice, and later Goya Park (苦瓜樂園). However, the Goya Park was closed but we still managed to take some photos there. We went to a waterfall ramen restaurant, 大家 for lunch. Both of us have ordered the
famous Agu pig ramen set. As we had to return our car at 6:00pm, we drove back to Naha downtown and finally we had steak for dinner @Jack's Steak House (which is next to our hotel).
The third day was a shopping day that we went to Outlet Mall Ashibinaa in the morning, where Nicole had bought a lot of roxy fashion, cap and accessories (incl. fashion for Auntie May and Cousin Venus). To
me, I had bought Levi's jean shorts and belt. Also, we'd bought a running Rilakkuma for Venus @Tomiton. In the evening, we went to Shurijo Park (首里城) for sight-seeing. Bambohe again for dinner :p.
We went again to the Outlet Mall for final shopping before our flight back to Hong Kong at 6:15pm. After flight checking-in, we shopped around domestic terminal and bought some black sugar candies and Yukishio
(seawater's salt) biscuits. Overall, I do enjoy the moments with Nicole in Naha, Okinawa. Hope that we would have another vacation together shortly. Photos in Gallery...
